The Black Cat With The White Tipped Tail

The cat was talking. Her... his... hir voice was like a river that flowed through a moss covered tree in a wood bathed in golden light.

I did NaNoWriMo this year. This was the most interesting character that appeared, "The Black Cat With The White Tipped Tail," whose voice was special enough to be described with tree metaphors. Xe (genderless she/he because xe didn't want that revealed) didn't just get angry, hir voice tree caught on fire. Xe didn't just look upon you with disapproval, the voice tree froze.

I'm pretty sure that this cat is a mythic being, because even the devil characters never got their voices being described as anything more than fiery, and that for obvious reasons.

Art wise, I had to look up Cat anatomy because this was the first time I drew a cat seriously, I got help from others with choosing hir eye colour and drawing the tree was a lot of fun even if I happened to draw some of the branches as going against the flow of gravity. Also, the moss was done entirely using a snowflake brush.

The eye colour is at the suggestion of a couple of friends and slightly based on a cat I used to have.

I like the way the water is so dark.
