This is another style guess, in the same vein as: [link]
This time it features Madalyn Monolith, a creative girl who hides her creativity to fit in at school. Because the vast majority of people in her universe are invisible and are incapable of being creative.

She comes from a very creative family too. Her dad, Cameron Monolith (often shortened to C'mon) runs a restaurant in a fake volcano that must be very expensive to run because it 'erupts' every now and again, and her brother is an inventor.
The restaurant serves cat food jelly. Among other normal things, but I can't remember what they were.

Yes, I had a weird mind when I was fifteen. That, and it was pretty much a gag a day comic.
Gosh... it was seven years ago.

Oh, you're working on your style. :D That's cute there. maybe a little too simple in terms of hair but it could work.

I do worry about my own style stagnating since my geology jobs is keeping me from finding time to experiment so I did everything mostly the same way. But then again, Charles Schulz haven't changed his style that much over 50 years.

Thanks! You see the very simple 'small' image in the top right? That was my original style before I started learning to draw manga, and I'm just trying to guess how my art may have evolved. There's an explanation here: [link]

But you do experiment and stuff! And even if you don't, you're still out there observing, and possibly being influenced without realising it. I've certainly surprised myself before with changes.
I've seen arguments, saying that in this day and age, his art style would not have been accepted. It's just that since when he started they were still experimenting with the medium, and they didn't care that much about the art. Story first.
And I think he probably delibratly kept his style that way, once he reached a certain point where he thought he'd established his 'style'.

Yes, and that original style is really nice and simple. One can accomplish a lot of storyline with that simple style. :)

It would be nice if they could place story above art. But now, it's all about higher-quality art and action. -_-;

You're right on being influenced without realizing it. Yep. And then there's an issue of motivation since it takes motivation to do experiments.

Yes! There are some really good stories out there that rely on real simple art, and sometimes it can add to it. Even if it's by creating a sense of dischord...

Most people do, but maybe not as much as they used to. There are quite a few who assume that if someone can't draw well, their story is probably terrible. Or even other things.

A good way is challanges. There are a lot of good ones floating around.

yep. But even those with "super-awesome" artworks can have crappy stories... like transformers movies.

yeah, if I can see them that is. *sits on a raft, trying to spot the "Land of challenge". I remember there was a 100 picture theme challenge somewhere..

Of course! As I believe we have mentioned. :icondragonkekeplz:

There is, but basicly what you do is choose 100 themes at random. Just single words. Like 1. goat 2. dreary 3. wednesday e.t.c.
One that I saw recently is this: [link]

Ah, I see. :)

I do have a bit of pride of learning to draw without tutorials. :XD:

That's cool! To be fair, some of them are absolute rubbish. But when you find good ones, it can help you make leaps and bounds.
