Shhh. She's dreaming. by icecheetah Shhh. She's dreaming. by icecheetah
Watercolour pencil work featuring Edev(in blue) and Evelyn(in green). They are alternates (or the same person from different universes), but they act more like twin sisters. They even have different personalities. It also features Yak, the very talkative lamia like creature that is Edev's familiar of sorts (the sort of lamia that has four legs). It also shows Yak's dream, of being back in her own universe, as an adult, with Edev at her side.
Her kind are very long lived.

Technique wise, I had little to experiment on, but the way I drew that tree scape was a new thing to me! I also had to look for deer and lion references, since Yak's body is mostly that of a deer, but she has the forepaws of a lion. I also like how Evelyn looks like she is obeying the laws of a different universe (both of them travel through universes and have the rare ability to adjust their bodies to the laws of another universe without losing their memories).

The next two paragraphs talk about death and murder. Skip if you don't want to read about it.

I originally intended for Yak to grow up to be a Peryton, which would put a bit of a divide between her and Edev, since Perytons all want to kill one person in order to make their shadow match their form, rather than cast a human one. But I'm not sure that making Yak grow wings would be a good idea, and with the way Edev's developed over time, she'd, after an awkward moment, say, "Okay, you can have the next big bad we have to kill."
Or they'd go to somewhere like Fallen London and someone, possibly Edev, would die temporarily.
Actually... maybe I can go with that...

This is the second time I've drawn Yak asleep. I need to draw Yak when she's awake. In fact, I just plain need to develop her more. She was fun when she was a sarcastic talking head with clichés, I'm sure she can be fun now!

Ah, Edev has a familar named Yak? :D

It must be tricky to do a coloring pencil without any lines showing through... let me tell you a trick. :)

Draw one picture with a pencil. Then tape a second paper on that sketch. have something to shine through the papers (window or glass board) THen you can trace the lines with coloring pencils. :aww:

Yeah, you can say that!

'll keep that in mind for pure pencil things, but I manly use water colour pencils. The thing with watercolour pencils is that I have to streatch the paper beforehand, and if I remove it from the bord, to use such a technique for example, I'd have to re stretch it which would ruin the lines.

Oh, that's certainly a con of using watercolour pencils.
