Part 10 of my All Fandoms Challenge, details here: [link]

Clover is part ten because, well, something had to be part 10, and I had an idea for Clover.

This features Sue (or Suu or Su, depending on the translation) as she may have looked as a child, looking at a real bird. It seems that real animals are quite rare, and most are synthetics or replicants.

I kinda tried to capture the style of the manga here. A sort of simple, beautiful style, with hints of art noveau. Even the lack of shading is part of that, screentone is rarely used for shading in the manga.

I used :iconhawksmont:'s leaf brushes on the bushes in this image.

When I scanned it in, I decided to use the original drawing as a sort of sketch layer, because, despite hours of work, it was TERRIBLE. I was still in that art block I had a month ago. I'm kinda glad I did that, as what I did was reduce the opacity of the original drawing and I drew the foreground first. I kinda liked how the reduced opacity Suu looked when I was done with the bird and window, so I decided to make the final drawing of Suu kinda transparant too.

Suu was the worst part in the original drawing. -_-;

Clover has to be one of my favorite manga. Everytime I pick up my copy (I have the Dark Horse omnibus) I just can't not look at it for a while, and read it. There's something about the story, the art, that just draws me in. I've read it several times, and each time, something else comes to my attention. A bit of foreshadowing, a small detail... it's quite amazing.

Pardon my mistakes in this... I was in the middle of art block when I drew the original, and I'm still not all that great at 100% digital art.

Also, first bird EVER!

For a first bird ever, it's freakin' excellent. Nice work!
